- Andrews Distributing Co. is proud to announce a new partnership with the craft brewery, Ballast Point out of San Diego, CA. Ballast Point was the recipient of 3 gold medals at the 2010 World Beer Cup for Sculpin IPA, Fathom IPA and Bourbon Barrel Aged Piper Down Scottish Ale. They were also named Small Brewer of the Year for 2010. Andrews will begin distributing Ballast Point beverages this fall. In 1992, Jack White founded Home Brew Mart, a supply shop including every item needed for brewing beer at home. Along with Yuseff Cherney, a fellow home brewer, Jack began brewing his own beer which turned into what is now known as Ballast Point Brewing. “Our philosophy is that it not only takes passion for your work to build a great business, it also requires the talent and the persistence to back it up. These are values that are taken to the highest level by Andrews Distributing and it is evident in every aspect of their business. Everyone we have met at Andrews Distributing has tremendous knowledge, insight and enthusiasm for what they do. They are eager to share what they know as well as learn from their partners. It is a commitment to excellence and execution that is unrivalled and we are proud to be part of such a dedicated team” said Jack White, founder of Ballast Point Brewery. Ballast Point was a main contributor to Andrews newest brand development strategy for specialty and craft beer brands: Force 4. The design of the Force 4 team came from a collaborative dialogue with craft partners from Boston Beer, Ballast Point Brewery, Boulevard Brewing, Shiner Bock, Tenth and Blake and key retailers as well as Andrews’ team members calling on specialty and craft centric accounts. Andrews was awarded the 2010 Craft Beer Distributor Achievement Award by the NBWA at the Great American Beer Festival. When selecting a distributor I fall back to the old saying, You can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends. And we want our distributors to be friends, friends with passion about craft beer...not afraid to put some investment behind our category. The folks at Andrews have done just that, they have put their resources behind the creation of Force 4, a 15 person team within Andrews that specializes in beer education, retail execution and category leadership. They looked for input from Ballast Point and wanted to know what we thought was key. We hadn't sold drop one in Texas and we had an opportunity to assist in setting up the sales team that will be working with our brand, crazy right? Not really, that is just a very good friend...and solid distributor said Earl Kight, Director, Sales and Marketing for Ballast Point Brewery.
